Tammy has a PhD in psychology and is a former criminal justice professor. She has a background in in substance use disorders, social work & recovery.
April Lubben, Treasurer
April is an RN for in-home nursing in Jackson & Clinton Counties.
Cynthia Shouse, Fundraising
Fundraising Chair and a Board Member for Life Connections Peer Recovery Services. I am also the daughter of the late mental health and disability advocate Rhonda Shouse, who was an outstanding voice throughout the state of Iowa for those who could not be heard. Iowa's ﬁrst peer-run respite house, Rhonda's House, is named after my mom, and I am honored to be able to be as involved as I am in continuing her legacy.
Dallas Spenser, Secretary
Dallas’s previous employment includes Lutheran Social Services of Illinois Adult Abuse Investigator and Community Reintegration Coordinator for Northwestern Illinois Center for Independent Living (NICIL). She has also served in the past on the NICIL board and served as the board secretary and as president for several years.
Rae Metzler, Board Member
Rae has a degree in Psychology. has a bachelors in Psychology and is looking into getting a Masters online. She worked for Adult Protective Services for 5 years and is working at Goodwill helping people with disabilities find jobs in the community.
Meet the Staff:
Todd Noack, Executive Director
Todd Noack is actively Involved in all aspects of the work performed by Life Connections, such as educational topics, public relations, and keeping up to date with the latest Developments in Peer Support. Todd is a person with a lived experience, a graduate of the 2010 class of the Iowa Peer Support Training Academy and an Iowa Board Certified Peer Recovery Specialist and facilitator of Wellness Recovery Action Planning. When “Peer Support” is mentioned, people know to contact Todd.
Edward Murphy, House Manager
Ed is a trained Certified Peer Recovery Specialist in both Iowa and Illinois. He is the house manager of Iowa's only peer respite (Rhonda's House), one of two advanced level wrap facilitator's in Iowa, trained in seeking safety, A.S.S.I.S.T, and certified personal medicine coach. Ed has found multiple pathways to recovery for himself and shares that with everyone he supports.
John Juhl, Recovery Center Manager
John is trained as a wrap facilitator, trained in A.S.S.I.S.T. John has spent a numerous amount of time in recovery from both physical and mental health and has found many aspects to recovery.
